Hi there! I’m Julie, the founder of Broche Ballet, and my story is much like yours.
I discovered ballet at 17 and despite my late start, I wanted to be taken seriously. I wanted to be pushed, and I wanted to be able to perform at some of the highest levels. I wanted to train somewhere that would help me get there.
Finding such a place was a challenge. For over a decade, I pieced together my training, seeking out the knowledge and expertise needed to excel. This journey led me to create Broche Ballet—the studio I longed for but never found.
I opened Broche Ballet with a clear vision: to create a haven where adult dancers could chase their ballet aspirations with the same seriousness and support that I had always craved. I wanted a place that recognized the unique challenges adult dancers face—a place that would push them, guide them, and help them reach their full potential.
By 2020, we had grown to three locations in Denver, only to see them permanently close due to COVID. But from this challenge, a new chapter emerged. Our online program, born out of necessity, has now become a permanent and cherished part of our mission.
Today, our mission is stronger than ever. We’re dedicated to helping dancers with grand ambitions, regardless of where they are in the world. Whether you’re grappling with the fast pace of traditional classes, feeling disconnected from the “perfect” ballet world, or questioning your potential, Broche Ballet is your sanctuary. We understand the unique struggles of learning ballet as an adult—the doubts, the physical challenges, and the emotional rollercoaster that comes with each plié and pirouette.
