Learn the Giselle Variation from Giselle

Giselle is one of the most popular ballets in history. First performed at the Paris Opera in 1841, Giselle is still considered a masterwork in the classical ballet repertoire. We are consequently excited to help you learn Giselle’s famous variation from Act 1! Unlike more dramatic variations such as Odette from “Swan Lake” or Juliet from “Romeo and Juliet”, Giselle’s variation is playful and whimsical. Whether you are a beginner or more intermediate dancer, we have a fun version of this ballet variation for everyone to learn!

Learn the Steps!

We created both a beginner and an intermediate version of Giselle’s variation with a follow-along video to help you successfully learn the steps! We have also included a separate video highlighting a ballet step that is included in the variation for you to learn and review. Here at Broche Ballet, we believe that anyone and everyone can dance, especially grownups! That’s why we love to help break down fun, classic ballet variations, so that anyone who wishes to learn them can!

Mastering Pas Marche

The Pas Marche is a fun ballet step often seen in many character dances and ballet variations. A pas marche is also sometimes referred to as a “relevé walk”. In Giselle’s variation, pas marche comes up several times, so let’s take a few minutes to learn or go over it!
